IT'S LIKE CONNECTING YOU  TO  THE  INSTRUMENT !

HEAR ALL THE   HARMONICS  !

FAST RESPONSE!

NO NEED TO HAVE MULTIPLE  PICKUPS ON YOUR INSTRUMENT!

ALL AUDIO RANGE IS PRESENT AT THE BRIDGE AND THE "HOAG OPTICAL PICKUP"  IS ALL YOU NEED!

Experience the true audio range and rich harmonic quality of the vibrating string with more sustain.

USE ALL THE  EFFECTS AS YOU WOULD WITH  OTHER GUITARS, BUT BE PREPARED TO HEAR AND FEEL MORE!

The instrument  feels more alive, because of the optical pickup's instant response!

HOAG K-MAX GUITARS

Hoag's optical instruments are, "lightning fast" .  This is done by  using very small light emitting diodes and  light  receivers, one  pair for each string. Your slightest touch is acted upon at light speed.  With instant response your creative impulses have time to react.

The light beam from the emitter shines directly onto and past the string. The receiver reacts to this light beam and causes a small amount of electricity to generate within.   As the string moves,  it allows more or less of the light beam to be sent to the  receiver  where it is directly converted to audio signals.

As you know, each instrument has a unique sound imprint and cannot be duplicated exactly.  Your instrument has many overtones that are a combined product of  every part of  the instrument, and  therefore, no two instruments sound exactly alike.  This combined sound imprint is present on the string.  Pickups with magnetic fields will  alter the string's pure imprint by restricting some movement.  Any pickup that uses mechanical  coupling to the string will also alter the string's pure imprint.
